Our Story
Guantuk Holistic Cabins Retreat was founded in 2018 as the result of a deep and ongoing search for physical, emotional, and spiritual harmony. What began as a personal journey evolved into a sacred space designed to support healing, transformation, and conscious living in nature. Our intention has never been to display wisdom, but to create an open environment for learning and self-discovery, where each guest can reconnect with their inner balance.
The name Guantuk comes from the reformed name of a sacred ancestral plant, traditionally known for its protective qualities and its ability to attract abundance and prosperity. This plant remains a living symbol of the retreat. At night, its natural fragrance fills the air, accompanied by lilies, jasmine, and San Pedrito—native plants that make this land energetically unique.
Nestled in nature near Riobamba, Ecuador, Guantuk features four unique eco-friendly cabins, each one individually designed and harmonized with the surrounding environment. No two cabins are alike. Each offers a different capacity for guests while maintaining privacy, comfort, and a deep connection with nature. The cabins are chemical-free, thoughtfully built, and equipped with essential modern comforts such as Wi-Fi, hot water, and private kitchens, allowing guests to feel both secluded and supported.
The retreat is cared for by members of the local community, ensuring safety, tranquility, and respectful stewardship of the land. Guests may prepare their own meals or enjoy traditional Ecuadorian cuisine, prepared by nearby neighbors using fresh, organic ingredients from Guantuk’s garden and trusted local producers. Advance notice is required to ensure freshness and mindful preparation.
A central part of the Guantuk experience is our offering of non-invasive ancestral healing therapies, designed to promote deep relaxation and energetic balance. These include energy cleansing rituals, hand and foot baths, foot reflexology, chakra harmonization, grounding practices on natural earth paths, and ionic detoxification as a complementary modern therapy. Guests are invited to walk barefoot, exchange energy with the Earth, rest beneath native trees, or experience stillness inside a copper pyramid, a space dedicated to natural energetic alignment.
Guantuk also offers introductory workshops on sacred geometry and stellar healing codes, supporting spiritual exploration and expanded awareness. These experiences do not replace medical care; rather, they complement well-being by encouraging harmony between the body, mind, and natural environment.
For retreats, gatherings, or conscious events, Guantuk provides a fully equipped conference room. Accommodation, meals, and coffee breaks are available upon request.
To preserve the integrity of this holistic retreat in Ecuador, Guantuk maintains clear guidelines. Parties, alcohol consumption, hallucinogenic plants, and excessive noise are not permitted. The owners reserve the right of admission to ensure alignment with the retreat’s values of peace, respect, and healing
